Pacific Lifeline Partners with Recycling for Charities for America Recycles Day

Asking everyone to recycle their unwanted wireless electronics and printer and copier cartridges

UPLAND , CA - November 14 th , 2005 - Pacific Lifeline is partnering with Recycling for Charities (a member of the Michigan Recycling Coalition) in recognizing America Recycles Day.

America Recycles Day (americarecyclesday.org) is a nationally recognized effort, sponsored by the National Recycling Coalition, and is observed on November 15 th . To conserve natural resources and pay tribute to the increase in environmental awareness, this day commemorates these efforts and aims to increase the commitment of everyone who works toward preserving the beauty of our country.

Recycling for Charities collects used or unwanted cellular phones, PDA's, iPods, pagers, ink cartridges and other small electronic devices, or "e-waste." In partnership with Recycling for Charities, Pacific Lifeline will be accepting these items on an ongoing basis, and is promoting the service this month in honor of America Recycles Day.

"The well being of the environment should be a concern to all of us," said Dwight Zahringer, President and founder of RFC. "We are giving individuals the opportunity to invest in the environment and their community in one step." This donation process benefits the environment by cutting down the "e-waste" that is disposed into landfills, as well as the charities that gain revenue from the collected items (Pacific Lifeline will receive a monetary benefit from each item it collects).

Recycling for Charities is concerned about the dangerous toxins, such as lead and mercury, found in discarded electronic devices. "With the proliferation of cell phones and other electronic devices, the public needs a source for properly disposing of old, unwanted items," Mr. Zahringer added. "This donation drive on America Recycles Day affords us the opportunity to do just that."

Carmen Hall, Executive Director of Pacific Lifeline, says, "While Pacific Lifeline's primary service to the community is helping women and children who would otherwise be homeless, we are excited about this new way that we can serve the community. By providing the means for people to recycle these electronic, printer, and copier items, we are positively affecting our environment. We are so appreciative of the support we receive from our community; this is another way we can reciprocate by helping to further improve the community in which we live."

RFC (www.recyclingforcharities.com) handles all collected electronic waste responsibly with the well being of the environment as the primary concern. RFC is an organization that allows individuals to donate cell phones to charity, as well as PDA's, Palm Pilots and digital cameras, in an effort that benefits the cause of their choice and the environment at large.
