A little about us: The Somali Documentary Project is a Non-profit organization.  As part of our education mission, we go into high-school classes and educate young people to document their own lives, as a way of promoting cultural understanding and racial healing.  SDP has been working with high-school kids in this way since 2005.  The work has resulted in several exhibitions in which the photographic images of the children were featured.  In schools with students from a broad range of ethnic programs, this promotes cultural understanding both in the classroom and throughout the larger community.
