The American Red Cross is using cell phone technology to help support the people devastated in Haiti by the recent earthquake. In just 2 days the American Red Cross was able to raise $5 million through their mobile fund raising initiative in order to help earthquake relief efforts in the country of Haiti. Without the worry of making a long-term commitment to the American Red Cross, individuals are able to make a $10 donation simply by sending a cell phone text message.
